Who We Are
Sports cars come in all shapes and sizes. One thing is for sure, their popularity has not waived over the years. In fact, there are thousands on the road in South Australia. From 1920’s Vintage Sports Cars, 1960’s classic examples like the famous Jaguar E type to more modern classics like the Toyota 86.
The Sports Car Drivers Club of South Australia is a new concept. Based in Adelaide, the uniqueness of this club means that it is based mainly online. Engaging with our members via social media, you will always keep up to date. We are registered as an Incorporated Association with consumer affairs SA (incorporation number A43408), and are affiliated with CAMS (the Confederation of Australian Motorsport). Aside from this we will be have been approved by the Department of Transport for historic registration, which will be offered in May 2018.
There will be regular meeting and car runs, incorporating drive days, cruises and motorsport events. All with a low cost of $50 per year. The criteria for membership is that members must be interested, own, restore or drive a sports car. We don’t want to be diluted, and club members will be encouraged to turn up at events in their sports cars., but it isn’t compulsory.
We will be running a number groups within this organisation (prewar, classic and modern), and just as we cater for all ages of Sports Cars, we cater for all ages of drivers! One thing we can guarantee, this is not a bunch of silly old men standing around their cars, we like to drive them. We look forward to meeting you soon!
Examples of some of our members cars include – Amilcar, Bugatti, Ferrari Dino, Ferrari 360, Porsche 911, Jaguar E Type, Jaguar MK2 3.8, Datsun 240Z, BMW 735 JPS, Triumph TR4, MG TC, MG Midget, Mallock mk21, Nissan R32 GTR, Nissan 350Z, HSV Holden Commodore, Mazda MX5, West WR1000, Mazda RX7, Mazda RX3, Ford Escort, Honda Integra, Honda NSX, and even a few vintage Riley’s.
